Our Services
Peer to Peer
The Beyond Abuse team includes people who are survivors of abuse, so is positioned to provide non-judgemental, objective and survivor-focused guidance and support to survivors .
Beyond Abuse specialises in Peer to Peer support. We offer a free service where a case manager will partner with a survivor to support them on their journey of recovery or seeking justice.
Obtaining justice often involves interaction with systems or agencies that may seem daunting or confusing, for example the criminal justice system or seeking fair compensation. Having the support of a person who understands and has also walked that journey can make a big difference.
Whether it is going to court, making statements to police or other organisations or your first disclosure a Beyond Abuse Peer to Peer case manager can support you and be there with you, if you wish. We aim to reduce the trauma survivors experience.
Beyond Abuse’s Peer to Peer support program complements important services such as health care and legal practitioners. Beyond Abuse can assist survivors with obtaining access to such services, if that is what the survivor seeks.
Beyond Abuse support team includes a medical practitioner with qualifications in Emergency Mental Health, Suicide Prevention, Trauma Informed Practice, Clinical Governance and Team Leader Mental Health and Social Services. The Beyond Abuse doctor supports our clients through assessment, development of care plans and facilitating communication with client’s treating teams.
All Peer to Peer services are based on a trauma informed, survivor-centred approach, aimed at enhancing the survivor’s agency and autonomy.
